About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Taking a Break

November 27, 2021

I want to let you all know that I will be taking a break from posting.  I do not know how long this break will be but do not worry, I will be back.

I rarely take a break, I have been posting since 2005 under the name of Generations Before us first and then (G stands for Grandma). I  outgrew my space and lost many posts in a reorganize and then in 2011 the post have been pretty much every week, at times more often.

I have had eye surgery recently, and I have a bad flare with Meniere's disease which I have had for a long time.  It is pretty awful right now, the symptoms are vertigo, balance issues and terrible noise in my ears.  On top of that I have Plantar Fasciitis, a relentless pain in my heel.  I have had this once before so it is not new to me but being older and limping around the house is pretty difficult.

But on days that I feel well enough to stay up I want to sew and there are some painting projects I want to do if the ear problems will settle.

So don't worry, we all need a break at times.

If you have time and want to do some reading you can go back to old post and read about how we have changed and all of our history projects.

Just go to the menu bar on my blog and click on a title such as living like the past and scroll to the bottom of the page and it will take you back ten years of posts.  I will link you to a few of them here.
