About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Taking a break

October 14, 2024

Photo of our Grandson Michael, he turned 21 this year and I wonder how he did that so fast.

I am popping in for just a moment to say that I am taking a short break from my blog.  We have many things going on and we are working on building a safe hallway from storms and building a double ceiling and walls.  This turned out to be a bigger job than we expected as we are doing this ourselves.

Our Katherine when she was a baby.

And now the main reason for the break, our little dog Katherine, such a joy to us has passed away and we are dealing with much grief over her not being here with us. She was just shy of being 17 years old.

Katherine (aka Katie) front and her brother Frank behind.

Our son gave her to us at a time in our life when we needed some happiness in our home after losing my Father and mother and our elderly Beagle Maggie, was struggling.

Our son had gotten a puppy and named him Frank and there was one puppy left and he went back because he did not want her alone and brought her to us.  Katherine came into our home and instant joy was in our house.

Katherine on the left and Frank on the right.  They have had sleep overs at our house and play dates all through the years.  Frank too is slowing down and our son has built him a ramp to go outside as we had done for Katie.

We thought that we could handle this better than we are, with time it will get easier to live without her and for now we will think about the time when all of our family will be together again.
