About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Early Morning at our House

August 21, 2015

I enjoy early morning at our house. I get up first, turn on the stove to heat water and start breakfast. I turn on the lights and everything is quiet as it is still dark outside.

A walk around the house and you would see things I left unfinished such as my tatting project.

Or my yarn and knitting needles wrapped and pinned closed from when I came home yesterday from Jury Duty and removed the partially knitted kitchen wash rag I was making.

Very old magazines sit in a old canner on the hearth next to the rocker.

Our rocker was in the sewing room but since we do not watch television anymore this is my new reading place. I say my new place because there are only two chairs in our house that my feet will touch flat on the floor.

I lit the candles for the breakfast table this morning.

Because it would be a simple breakfast of cinnamon toast and coffee. You know I am all about making it romantic because life is just too stressful otherwise.

I had stopped drinking coffee entirely but now I enjoy a plain cup of coffee ever once in awhile.

Our Cockatiel named Bell loves her special time either in the evening or early morning when all is quiet in the house. I allow her to explore and especially to go to her favorite place which is the cabinet that holds the Beatrix potter books and figurines.

She is allowed this time to freely walk about and socialize with her friends because that is what she always seems to be doing.

She walks among them as if she is wanting to know what they have been doing.

Samuel Whiskers and Pigling Bland do not look thrilled to see Bell.

She is asking, why so frumpy Mr. Pigling Bland?

Hello Tommy Brock, can I see what you have in your bag? Possible bird seed or parsley?

Bell loves this Peter Rabbit, it is a larger piece than the other and she kisses him on the nose almost every time.

If only they could talk, Peter looks like he is saying, I wish you would stop kissing me on my nose!

Please come back, I have many pages on my website. Grandma Donna
