About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Seems strange to me that Bob was cutting grass at the end of November.

Laura, maybe since they live in California? People are still cutting grass here in southeast Alabama but it will end soon. We have to cut ours at least one more cut and that should do it. :)

Good Evening... I am very much enjoying these diaries! Lena is my favorite.?? Will the NewYear bring more entires? It has become like my weekly soap opera- hahahaha. It would be quite an adventure to research our Lena to find out more information based on the names she mentions& how delightfully wonderful to see a picture of her. Thank you for all the work you put into your weekly posts. I do love them! You have encouraged me more than you could possibly know. Thank you, G Donna!

Hi, Grandma Donna!
I think I will miss reading about Lil and Bob and Lena and Richard. It's like if they become part of our lives, even if we only know them by what they wrote so many years ago.
Have a wonderful weekend!
:)

I agree with Paula. These diaries sure have become like family and friends to me too. I can just picture everything especially the IGA grocery store as to that's where I shopped with my grandparents each week and the store is still there too. When we visit that town I always go in with my husband and buy something small just to remember it all. :)
