About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Getting Organized and New Address

December 23, 2018

It is getting time to put years of research to work.  I hope this new year be interesting, calming, productive and educational.

Some of you have contacted me and asked for an address. Some of you have disconnected from your home internet and are going to the public library to use the internet and to read my blog.

I now have a blog mailing address where you can write to me the old fashioned way.

Grandma Donna

P.O. Box 1634

Dothan, Alabama 36302

I am working on organizing my desk, I have added extra paper and envelopes and I am working on discipline myself to do things more old fashioned and that includes pen, paper and ink.  You can also type if that is what you prefer as there were typewriters well into the past and if I get behind I may type as well.  You can still send a emails too. :)

Hopefully this year will be much about making a simple and old fashioned home in a modern world.

It is time for us all to be more present, to put down our cell phones, tablets and electronics, stop listening to the news and focus on our home, wherever that may be.

Meals of cabbage and potato soup made from leftovers, potato pancakes and peas is better than take out.  My children now grown with their own families love potato pancakes :)

This is a short post, no time to sit being that it is the day before Christmas Eve.

Everyone be safe, protect yourself from the flu, wash your hands, wear a mask if you feel there is a need and please, if you are sick STAY HOME!

Much love to all, Grandma Donna
