About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Bestill my heart, my favorite era of homes! Did you notice how many homes made sense? Water areas have tile including around toilets, sinks like this, the water doesn't schlup back behind, cabinet doors are inset (less to dust) and a real table, not an island where it's not just one more surface to be cleaned? Now, they have cleaning intensive and care intensive items. Drives me crazy! To find another table like this, costs an arm and a leg. Now they're all this cheap wood type junk!!! I think we've gone past sensible for many years now.

Ann with an E :) I really had a difficult time settling down, I wanted to see it all at once! I gasped when we walked to this area of the museum and could not believe what I was seeing.
Yes, most everything made more sense back then, even during a world war. I hope you enjoy part two and three as well. :)
