About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Update on The Shabby Cabby

The beginning story is under "The Beginning of our camper called The Shabby Cabby.
Now this page is three years later..............

We have continued to work on the old girl since we moved her to the back yard. We had a few minor leaks that we had to patch and we added a new air conditioner in the front.

The kitchen has the basics with a cabinet underneath that holds groceries, a kettle for hot water and pots and pans.

This is the new air conditioner and it is in the perfect place because it blows from the front to the back.  We had put another one in the side of the camper but it would not cool and a pain to pull in for travel so after much thought this is what was done.

We call this our china cabinet because we keep our dishes and silverware here across from the table.

This is our dinning and entertainment area with our radio/cd player and games.

Looking from the front seating to the back bedroom.

I made curtains from old fabric that came from a bedspread ruffle and other older curtains that I had in the trunk.

Since we decided to put as few walls as possible I made a suggestion wall and made a short curtain and put it on a bendable piece of molding to suggest this is the bedroom.

I did the same in the front to make a separation of the living room.  I also repainted the mural because the blue in the water did not match the paint colors and it gave the wall a much softer look.

This is the small curtain for the living room

This is where we store our other two folding chairs

We riveted a thick ribbon to tie back the chairs for traveling

This is our current bathroom and when the toilet is removed the top lid drops down and a large shallow pan can sit on the top for bathing.  We pull a shower curtain around then place the pan and a vintage wash tub sets on the floor in the rounded area where you put your feet.  When you pour the water over you the water runs down into the washtub.  It works for now and most campgrounds have bath houses.

We could not forget Katherine and Elizabeth so their kitchen food and water bowls are in the small cubby in the bottom left hand corner of this picture.  We built in the little cubby and it sets by the door. This keeps the bowls out of the way so they don't spill.

That is all for this update, watch for more to come.................
