About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Dear GDonna did your continue to wear the corset? I wear mine daily even with the hard work we do. I also wear a shift and 2 to 3 petticoats depending on the weather. I tried for years to make my own corsets but fit was always an issue. The hubby ordered me a real one from timeless trends. It was a worthy investment since I do wear this as my main support garmet. Thank you so much for your posts. When I read this post before I was fascinated that someone else would try wearing one like I do not just these costumers I read about.

Hi Beth, I saved up and invested in a real corset from www.Townsends.us A lovely and well made corset. I should wear it more than I do and your comment is encouraging me to wear it more because it actually does help my back, especially when I am washing dishes. I do wear the other one at times as well.
Thank you for your comment and I am happy that you were able to get a real one too. Some things are truly worth saving for. :) Donna
