About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Thanks for this article. The information is so useful and it reminds me of how it was when I was growing up. My mother cooked our meals at home from scratch and we ate what she set on the table. There weren't any other provisions for picky eaters. If we didn't want what was served she would tell us that was fine we could go without eating and she would save some of it so we could have it for the next meal. There was no getting around eating it. Also because we spent our time playing outside instead of sitting in front of some screen we were hungry so we ate what was served.

I also love the vintage kitchen pictures, especially the old refrigerator.
