Mid June Garden Update
June 12, 2013
The Peppers and eggplants in containers are doing very good this year.
Nice Shiny peppers, now if we can just keep critters from eating them.
A baby eggplant
The sage plant has grown out all over the large container.
Wave Petunias are now trailing over the baskets.
This is one of the cucumber A frames. We are havesting several cucumbers a day now.
Okra
Another cucumer trellis.
Hot peppers in the pepper wagon
One of the tomatoes starting to ripen
These are determinate tomatoes in this pot. I prefer indeterminate but accidentally got a determinate. Determinate tomatoes have a certain amount of set fruit and after they ripen that is it for them. The indeterminate tomatoes will vine and produce all summer into the fall.
Another A frame cucumber
Some of the first cucumbers there have been many more since this picture.
We had to pick this eggplant early along with two others because of what was on the other side.
This is the other side, the squirrels are now helping themselves and I am not happy about this.
Tomatoes are turning red now.
The tomatoes are not over the top of the A frame.
This cucumber is getting ready for picking.
We have been eating zucchini almost ever day for several weeks now and I am still not tired of eating it. Check out my squash soup recipe in the cooking from scratch section.
We do not use and fungicide or pesticides and this mold is what we have to deal with on our squash leaves.
I planted the cucumbers beside our fence and have been guiding the new growth to wind around the fence. This is a squash plant to the right side.
Young cucumber growing on our fence
Shhhhhh, don't tell the squirrels there are more eggplants.....
