About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Hi Grandma Donna,

I hope you know how much you and your family are cared for by us readers - and don't feel any pressure about the blog. I really hope Madge is doing okay since it's been a little while since we've gotten an update on her and your health.

I wanted to reply to this post because it found me at just the right time. The fall quarter for my graduate program has started and I am so busy. I get frustrated that I haven't been crocheting like I was during the summer, I haven't made more jam, I really need to vacuum, and on and on. Too many "wants" and not enough "needs." Your reminder to not only do what is in front of me each day but to also have gratitude and thankfulness for whatever it is I did get done that day, was just what I needed to hear (read lol). It's so easy to see the 20 unfinished items on my to-do lists and never give myself a loving pat on the back for the 10 things I did get done. Every bit counts and maybe 20 things are too much on one list anyway ;)

Sending love from California,
Diamond
